health updates

In the past week, I have watched a lot of television. I finished The Office, season two and started on season three. I finished The Pretender, season four and started on season five. Idlewild was a very lame movie that was only slightly redeemed by the swing dance sequences. Africa Screams with Abbot and Costello was good to be fuzzy during. The Heartbreak Kid was cute at parts, but overall not impressive at all.

After yesterday marked one week with this sick stuff and I had a fever topping 101, I finally gave in and went to the doctor this afternoon. Just the trip down wore me out. My mother was gracious and allowed me to nap on her couch, then drove me to my appointment. Turns out this is no lingering cold. No, I have full blown pneumonia. The doctor didn't even need a chest x-ray to diagnose it. That's pretty bad. She set me up with some high grade antibiotics and sent me back to bed rest. Like I haven't had enough of that already!

Mom did the "Greatest Mother" thing by filling my prescription and stocking me with tissues, soup and lovely juices.

Now I'm back on the couch again. The doctor said that I should feel an upswing in about a week. More movies and tv for me and if I'm feeling up to it, a little knitting. I'm pushing my luck and journeying down to K-zoo Wednesday night for the Broadway show, Evita. It's Adrienne's Christmas present, and we've been planning this for several months. I'm not going to give that up, pneumonia or not. I'm headed down early in the day to rest before the show and spending the night after -- so that should minimize the total fatigue factor.

So that all being said, I will be spending a good portion of the next several days in bed (again). What are some good movies to watch? Bonus points if it's on Netflix Watch-It-Now or is pre-2003 (Jeff has many movies stashed away that I haven't seen).
